History

Indonesian Association of Health Informatics (IAHI), is a professional organization that accommodates enthusiasts in the field of Health Informatics in Indonesia. This organization was formed as a forum for communication, collaboration, and scientific development for professionals from various backgrounds such as medicine, public health, information technology, and other social sciences who are interested in the field of Health Informatics. IAHI was founded on November 10, 2005 in Jakarta, and is independent and non-profit, which means that all of the organization’s income is used to support work programs and development of organizational activities. Over time, IAHI has developed into an organization that has a complete institutional structure with institutional and individual membership, with various categories based on status and contribution to the development of Health Informatics. IAHI actively participates in various national and international forum activities, as a form of contribution to the global discourse in the field of Health Informatics. Some examples of such participation include participation in the Indonesian Health Informatics Forum (FIKI) held in 2015 and 2023, which is an important event for sharing knowledge, experience, and building professional networks at the national and international levels. As a national organization, IAHI also opens up opportunities for the establishment of branches in various provinces and other regions in Indonesia, to expand the reach and impact of efforts to develop the field of Health Informatics.
